Berlin is Germany’s capital as well as being one of the sixteen states in Germany. Berlin is Germany’s largest city, with a population of 3.45 million, and is the seventh most populated urban area existent in the European Union. Berlin is influenced by a very temperate seasonal climate as it is located in the European Plains, nowhere near to the coast. Berlin was the capital of the Kingdom of Prussia in the years spanning between 1701 and 1918. Berlin went on to be the capital of the German Empire from 1878 to 1918, of the Weimar Republic between 1919 and 1933, and of the Third Reich between 1933 and 1945.
Following World War Two, Berlin was split into East Berlin and West Berlin. East Berlin was the capital of East Germany. The Berlin wall ensured the split, the wall remaining in place physically and metaphorically. The wall did not come down until 1990, and German reunification, after which Berlin regained its status as Germany’s capital. I’m not too sure if there are any ISP’s in Berlin.
